I hope someone can help me out.
I already have the entire suite (CS6) installed on my iMac and has been working great for many years and it is still currently being run in Sierra also.
Now, I want to install it on my MacBook Air with Yosemite (v10.10.5). But it won't install when I tried to use the Adobe install discs (which I own). And also I attempted to do an AirDrop between the two computers of the Photoshop and Illustrator folders but that didn't work either.
This is the message I received when after I inserted the install disc and tried to install the package:
And when I tried to open Photoshop the other way after I AirDropped it and moved it to the applications folder on the MacBook, this is the error it gave me: "Configuration error. Please uninstall and reinstall the product." I trashed the folder that I AirDropped.
I tried it again with the disc, and the first error above came up again.
I tried to research the issue and it seems it is related to Adobe updates in version 10.10.5 for Yosemite. But I can't find what to download exactly to make my install discs work.
no, yosemite should work without problem with cs6.
sierra has a problem with cs6, but adobe's posted a work-around: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/install-creative-suite-mac-os-sierra.html

Hi there,
Originally I had the Adobe Creative Suite Premium Education. Then I bought my new iMac in 2013 and purchased the Creative Suite 6 (CS6) Design Standard with the new iMac.
So, it was my error that I put in the wrong discs into the MacBook Air (with Yosemite). I found my earlier Creative Suite Premium Education (I had a mind blank!). Which is why the error message wasn't for the CS6.
Anyways, when I tried instead to AirDrop the actual CS6 from my iMac to MacBook, that gave a different error.
But now I found my newer Adobe CS6 discs and will now try to install them on my MacBook with Yosemite (v10.10.5).
I hope that will work but it may not because I thought I read online somewhere that there were issues at the time with Yosemite working with Adobe?

Thank you.
The install disc asked me to enter the serial number, which I did. Then it indicated I had to sign-in to Adobe, but first there was a message indicating that my "credentials will be stored on this device". However, I want my credentials to be stored on my main device, which is my iMac.
Before I continue with signing in and the install, I would like to make sure I am doing this process correctly. I need to make sure that my main use of the Adobe software on my iMac will not be affected after I sign-in to Adobe from the MacBook to install the suite on it.

you are allowed to activate your cs6 on, up to, two computers at any one time. if you want to activate on a third, you need to deactivate (help>deactivate) on one of the other two first.
you are licensed by device (=computer) and serial number.
with cs6 there's no need to sign-in to anything. you'll need to connect to adobe's servers after entering your serial number, but if you do that and see a green check mark and are able to click next without error, you're ok for installation.
mac users often have to 'sign-in' to their mac to ok the installation of software so if you're prompted for an id/password, that's your mac id/password, not adobe.

It will only be on two macs, the iMac and MacBook.
I will go ahead and complete the sign-in to Adobe to complete the install on the MacBook. (But there was that message that my credentials will be stored on "this device". )
I will try it out now.
Thank you~
