Looks like the Adobe Application Manager has gone corrupt. We might need to re-install AAM Lets try the below steps:

  • Download and install the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
  • Extract and run it.
  • Select "e" for English.
  • Hit "Y" for Yes if asked.
  • Select Option 3 for Creative Cloud.
  • Then select Option 1 for Creative Cloud Installer.
  • Rename the OOBE folder to OOBE OLD from :

               Mac: MAC HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe

I don't have the Adobe Creative Suite Uninstaller file (no CS no CC). I am subscribing to the Cloud using Photoshop 6 CS and that installed fine. Trying to get Illustrator and the App Manager keeps quitting but I don't see those files you speak of.

Thanks, this worked for me by just using the last link in the first response. That updated AAM and things started working properly.

Well, this hasn't worked for me to re-install LR6 after an upgrade on my MBA to OS10.11. I have downloaded and re-installed AAM a couple of times and still get the "Adobe Application Manager quit unexpectedly" message after typing my password to connect with registration at Adobe. BTW, I was able to get my CS5 reinstalled ONLY after I spent a lot of time removing all files that had adobe or one the  adobe app names in the filename. Still, I couldn't do any updates on the CS5 apps until I downloaded and installed each individually - doing it from within, e.g., Photoshop, just wouldn't work. Are there any other suggestions?
