To Adobe: I just spent 2 hours with MohammadKhurshid Alam of Adobe Chat support, attempting to install my existing Creative Suite Design Premium CS5 from the Adobe CD.  After all his efforts, Mohammad told me that I cannot use Creative Suite Design Premium CS5 on Windows 10 because it is not supported, yet I just deactivated CS5 on my older Windows 10 computer where it worked just fine.

Error message reads: "Configuration error.  Please uninstall and reinstall the product.  If the probelm still occurs, please contact Adobe technical support.  Mention Error: 5"

I would like my problem resolved and it is absolutely not resolved now.  I do not want to buy an Adobe subscription when I have already purchased the product. I have been upgrading Adobe Illustrator regularly since 1990.  Please show me how to make my CS5 product work on Windows 10 as it always did! Thanks for contacting me – Larry Bilotta

An idea that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10... works for some, not for others

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... says

NOTE - Win10 anniversary update version 1607 has caused MAJOR problems with old programs, so the above may not work

-Notice http://www.computerworld.com/article/3157369/windows-pcs/new-windows-10-build-is-a-monster-update.html

Owners of old programs simply have problems with Windows 10... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Microsoft changed their operating system and THAT is why your old program won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Microsoft issues a Win10 update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working after the initial Win10 upgrade will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

This worked, run as administrator, copy the download folder location, put it in the search bar, you will find the adobe.exe. Click Run as Administrator. I am downloading now~I had the same issue because my computer had a new hard drive installed. Now..to re-add all the plug ins, keyboard shortcuts, and everything else...good times...
