CS6 install fails on Retina Macbook Pro (10.8.2)
I downloaded the CS6 Design and Web Premium trial and attempted to install. It downloaded fine and I can open the .dmg file, but the instant I click the Install application I get the error message "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." I did as it said but it detected nothing. I deleted the trial and downloaded the Master Collection CS6 trial to see if the result was any different.... it wasn't. Got the same error message. I looked though other forums and tried their methods to fix this but I have had no luck. Time is kind of, of the essence. Start school in a few days and a Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator class is difficult without Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator.
Anybody know what to do?

I did try a new account and it failed.
I seem to have found a workaround. I used the application manager linked HERE and my issues have been resolved. I was able to install all of the CS6 programs with that Manager. Must have been giving me corrupt files or the manager itself was corrupt.
Everything downloaded, installed, and updated perfectly. All I did was make sure I had every trace of previous attempts deleted off my computer then downloaded the app manager.
Very weird fix but I'm happy it w

Ddwag1 you will want to review the PDApp.log file to determine why your installation is failing to initialize. You can find details on how to accomplish this at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

yeah I saw that
It says to go to /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/ there isnt an Adobe folder. Also in /Library/Logs I dont have the PDapp.log file

This is because it is located at Users/<UserName>/Library/Logs. To access your hidden User library hold down the option key while selecting Go in the Finder. Library will then be listed under Home.

Ah. Sorry thanks. New to macs.
The only errors I seem to be getting are "/Users/<myname>/Applications/Adobe/OOBE/PDApp/" and "[FATAL] Setup - Unable to create PIM object."
Is there other information I could give that could help? In other searches I saw to "Search the Adobe knowledgebase" but I'm so confused on how to do so.

You will want to do a search on ERROR and FATAL to locate all of the relavent error messages. You may want to verify that you permissions are set properly on Users/<UserName>/Applications/Adobe/OOBE.

I checked and I didnt have the Adobe folder, thus no OOBE folder. I created them and have the permissions but still the failure.

If you try a new administrator account for the installation do you have the same failure?

Interesting Ddwag1 it has been awhile since we have released an update for the Adobe Application Manager. Do you happen to know if the version you downloaded was an update to the version you had installed?

Originally because I watnted to just download the Web and Design Premium I went to the page where you could download the trial. It made me download the 'Download Assistant.' It looked like this. What ended up working was the Application Manager'. It looked like this.
The DL Assistant looks like it was the issue not App Manager now that I think about it.

Where are you checking ???
Look the library folder under Users not the one in Mac HD , Here are the steps:-
Click on "GO" button on the top menu bar in Finder
In the Drop Down, select "Go to Folder"
and then type "~/Library/Logs" without inverted commas
check for the PDApp.log there ,
You can find the error and the resolution in the KB shared by Jeff in Post #1
