Question

Didn't receive a redemption code?

I received adobe CC as a christmas gift, but the buyers didn't receive a redemption code in their emails - only an order number and a case number. Are we missing something figuratively, or literally?

the adobe id used to make the purchase has the subscription.  hopefully, whoever made the purchase used your adobe id, but they would need your adobe password to do that.

if that was done correctly, install the cc desktop app from here (after signing in with the adobe id used to pay for the subscription), https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and use the desktop app to install your programs.

background info:

creative cloud does not use a serial number and creative cloud subscribers to not have any serial numbers associated with their programs.  creative cloud subscribers use their adobe id to activate their programs.

download and install the creative cloud desktop app (after signing in with your adobe id - the same one you used to pay for your creative cloud subscription),  https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud

open the desktop app (a  shortcut will be on your desktop) > click apps and then select the programs you want to install.

the desktop app gives you acces to cs6, cc, cc 2014 and cc 2015 apps.  and probably more in the future.

if you already have the cc desktop app and you need to refresh your adobe id, sign out and then back in to your cc desktop application using the same adobe id used to pay for your subscription:  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

They weren't actually logged in at the time - the person they talked to apparently said that they didn't need an adobe account or to know my username + password. Did they just dump money on an unusable product, and i need to follow some sort of chargeback + recharge with adobe, or is there some arcane process for 'gifting' a subscription to people without knowledge of their accounts?

i know of no gifting process but then i'm not an adobe employee.  i recommend chatting with one: contact adobe support during pst business hours by clicking here and, when available, click 'still need help', http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service-ccm.html
