download CS5 Design Premium for windows 7 64 bit

I have found out how to download CS5 as a replacement for my copy where the disc has been lost... but that download is the 32 bit version (only tells you that after you've downloaded almost 3Gb un-necessarily from the Adobe website :-(. I need the 64 bit version for Windows 7 Ultimate. But I cannot find it anywhere - can someone please help me??

Second question... I'm moving to a Macbook platform from Windows. My preference would be to download a Mac version 64 bit. Am I allowed to do that? Would that work with the same serial number?

Both 32 bit and 64 bit should have installed.

Photoshop installs a 32-bit and a 64-bit shortcut into the Start Menu. If you need to manually run the application, the 32-bit version is the photoshop.exe file, in the Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder, and the 64-bit version is the photoshop.exe file in the Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder.

Won't work. Serial numbers are operating system specific: Windows only or Mac only.

Although there is a platform swap process, it's only available for CS6

You'll have to pay to upgrade to CS6 for Mac or join the Cloud.

I'm not clear what you are looking for. Back then only Photoshop was 64bit and it has a combo installer that installs both the 32bit and 64bit versions. All other programs are 32bit only. So in effect there is only one install package and that would be true regardless of what operating system. As for the rest: Serial numbers are platform specific and platform switches only apply to "current" versions, meaning you would have to upgrade to CS6. But even that doesn't make much sense, since especially on OSX 10.10 (Yosemite) there are any number of compatibility issues with legacy versions and you can bet that this won't get better the more this drifts apart. The only reasonably future-proof approach would be to sign up for Creative Cloud.

Thanks for your prompt reply, though this doesn’t fully resolve my problem except at great expense…

I assume the PS 5 on the downloads is also 32 bit as its from a ../win32/.. directory. One of the reasons I don’t want to migrate to creatvie cloud is that other apps i use in this space are windows, eg. DxO Pro Optics 9 suite (which works just fine under parallels), svBuilder Pro and Lightroom. I want them to integrate seamlessly, and not sure if that will occur if say DxO is under Parallels and the rest native Mac. I also use Dreamweaver so cannot just get the Photographers deal on creative cloud.

I need a 64bit environment for these apps, and Parallels Windos 7 SP1 environment has been utterly successful with every other app i’ve placed on it. What options do I have please?
