Download the offline installer from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-xi-pro-standard-reader-direct-download-links.html
Make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions on that page.

I followed the instructions on that page, and clicked the link which took me to the redirect link, which resulted in the following error page:
You don't have permission to access "http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/APRO/11/osx10/AcrobatPro_11_Web_WWMUI.dmg?" on this server.

DHTML Kitchen if you followed the instructions then please utilize a different web browser. The current web browser's security settings, add-ons, or toolbars are preventing the successful completion of the instructions.

Oh wow.
Here it is 2014 and it's my browser's fault that your website doesn't work; can't provide a download link, and even on this buggy page, continuous error animated messages "Your content could not be saved…". These messages keep appearing atop the text, even over what I type. How do I turn that off? Can you make it stop?
CPU is at 68% for Firefox on Mac, just for this forum! And I'm running a MBP dual i7.
Maybe Adobe is too busy leveraging the full power of cookies, trackers, browser sniffing, runaway javascript, or whatever the problem is (and does it really matter if I can't download it in Firefox?) to run QA or do code reviews.
Awful.

I just tried Pat Willener's link using Safari 7.0.1 and got the same result:
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/APRO/11/osx10/AcrobatPro_11_Web_WWMUI.dmg?" on this server.

The access denied error is due to cookies not being accepted. If it is affecting multiple web browsers then you may want to look at adjusting the settings of the security software.
As an alternative have you tried downloading from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X. The cookie and the download link are both on the same page. If cookies are being blocked however you may experience the same error.

Finally got through n Safari 7.0.1 and now I see:
Download a free trial of Photoshop Lightroom 5
Please correct the following:
The download process requires JavaScript to be enabled. Please enable JavaScript in your browser, then refresh the page.
I clicked on the link from Pat's page to get Adobe Acrobat XI, not Lightroom 5!
And I do have JavaScript enabled in Safari. That shouldn't matter, as it just throws up an a11y barrier, but for Adobe, they want to slow everything down with a bunch of javascript to have me download Photoshop Lightroom 5.
I want to convert a PDF to HTML. And that is for unpaid research. Ena and I are taking apart the Monsanto's bought-and-paid-for research, performed by Monsanto employees, using Monsanto testing facility, and published through Elsevier, which has been caught by Merck for falsifying an entire review board.
I tried many other PDF to HTML converters, but they couldn't convert tables properly. Mozilla's own pdf.js failed there, too.
We want to shed light on this research for the general public, which is only ever given dumbed-down, superficial PR. And it is my idea to do this using HTML. Nobody else I know can or will accomplish this. It must get done and I must do it.
Please help me obtain a copy of Adobe Acrobat. Version ten would be just fine for my needs; this is a 2004 study, so probably and old PDF.
Thanks.

You may want to temporarily disable your security software and ensure that javascript and cookies are being accepted by the web browser.
Alternately you can download the installation files on a different computer. Copy the files to a USB drive. Install Acrobat from the USB drive.
