Popup at at startup states the cs5servicemanager requires java update. I am running the latest version of Yosemite and have the full version of Adobe CC. This popup started after the updating to Yosemite.

I am getting the same thing since I updated to Yosemite last week

• At EVERY restart and boot I get the message, "To Open 'CS5ServiceManager' you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.
• My System running 10.10:

              Model Name: MacBook Pro

              Model Identifier: MacBookPro10,1

              Processor Name: Intel Core i7

              Processor Speed: 2.6 GHz

              Number of Processors: 1

              Total Number of Cores: 4

              L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

            L3 Cache: 6 MB

              SMC Version (system): 2.3f36

• All Adobe software is up-to-date with CC2014
• All Adobe CC software has been uninstalled except a couple like Bridge, Lightroom 5, Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

Any Ideas what is going on?

I'm experiencing the same thing and also since updating to Yosemite. I want it to stop. I have no ideas on how to get rid of it.

the solution seems to be to follow the link on the popup menu and download the update file: JavaForOSX2014-001

after installation, the notification at startup no longer appears.

I just spent a lot of time online with an Adobe customer service person and he told me that every time an OS is updated that all Adobe software has to be unistalled and then re-installed (not kidding). I was getting the same Java error message and I tried to uninstall any old CS5 or CS6 software I still had, but it failed. He then said that I needed to re-download the legacy CS5 and CS6 applications and then re-uninstall them in the newly updated Yosemite OS. I am going to try this, because it doesn't seem like a good idea to install legacy Java script to cover an error message, which could potentially cause issues somewhere else – with old Java on the machine.

If you're not actually running CS5 anymore, as I guess most people aren't (certainly most of the commentators above). Then there is a fix posted here which is simple enough:

• Download free version of cleaner (CCleaner - Download)
• Run the software
• Select the Tools tab
• Select Startup
• Locate and remove CS5ServiceManager

Of course you could use your preferred method to find the CS5ServiceManager files. What I'm saying is: if you're not using them get rid — for whatever reason updates and uninsitalls of old versions of the CS over the years had left CS5ServiceManager and CS4ServiceManager in my startup items ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi there, I used CCleaner but went directly to

• Select the Tools tab
• Select Startup
• Locate and remove CS5ServiceManager

I didn't RUN the app since I didn't know what it would do?

BTY, what does running CCleaner do?

Here's another way, if you don't mind getting your feet wet in the Terminal:

launchctl remove com.adobe.CS5ServiceManager

sudo rm -f /Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.CS5ServiceManager.plist

What this does is:

• Removes the launchctl profile that starts CS5Manager at startup;
• Deletes the plist file that re-creates that launchctl profile.

The second step is necessary or it will keep coming back.

Be careful when using sudo and rm, you don't want to remove anything important - just this plist file.
