How to update Adobe Acrobat Professional for Mac 8.0.0 to 8.1.3?

I have a client who has an old 2008 iMac that was happily running Adobe Acrobat Professional for Mac v 8.0.0. Now that he has installed Snow Leopard (in order for Dropbox to keep working) Acrobat Pro will not open. Is there an update path to 8.1.3 that anyone knows about? He does not, and I do certainly do not, want him to have to spring for $450 for the latest Pro version unless absolutely necessary. Any answers out there? Thanks!

    Hi, I need help updating Acrobat 8 to 8.1, to 8.1.1, to 8.1.2...blah blah...  I need to know which version from the /misc/ folder to download since there is nothing in the root folder, or if someone has the correct files for english - us versions please post repo site.

    use the one that is applicable to your acrobat version.  eg, if english use the eng, french, german, japanese (efgj) version.

    Still having problems..  :-(   And I haven't modified anything, I just installed it.

    there's not going to be an update to solve the installation problem, but there are updates.

    An update patch for Windows doesn't help me at all since it's Adobe Acrobat Professional for Mac 8.0.0—not Adobe Reader—that I am trying to update.  The iMac in question is running Mac OS 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard). Am I out of luck for 8.1 update? Thanks.
