Photoshop CC (2017) does not install

I have a monthly subscription on Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC with Adobe. Recently I changed to a new MacBook Pro (late 2016 model) with the latest version of macOS. Before installing I deleted the programs from my old computer.

When installing Lightroom CC everything is OK, no problem correct installation. When I continue via the Creative Cloud widget something enigmatic starts. Photoshop CC starts loading is suddenly reaches 100% very swiftly, going from 0% to 100% in an instant. Then I get the message that Photoshop CC has been installed. When looking in the menu of the Creative Cloud in the top of Safari I see that the Photoshop CC program is not installed and must be installed first. So I did this a few times with the same result. At the moment I cannot do much as Lightroom as there and Photoshop not.

What can I do ?

I worked further and realised that after quitting the CC desktop app I could not restart in in the prescribed way

<<To relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop application, find it in the following locations:

Mac OS: /Applications/Adobe Creative Cloud/>>

as this map cannot be found on my computer, although the CC desktop app is (or was ?) installed on my computer. At the moment I can get the CC desktop app working again when I install it again.

This might be a cause of the problem with the (non)-installation of Photoshop CC

Thanks again for your expertise and time spent on this tenacious problem.

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

quit your desktop app by clicking the gear icon>quit

Remove the OPM.db file.

Mac OS: Locate the OPM.db file in the \User\<user name>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\OOBE folder. To access the hidden user Library folder, see https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/access-hidden-user-library-files.html

restart your cc desktop app

retry downloading

Thanks for your quick reply and detailed description how to proceed. I have deleted the OPM.db file and again downloaded Photoshop CC. Just before the download started I got a message

<<Will you allow that 'CreativeCloud(URIHandler)' is opened by this page?>>

Although I have not the slightest idea what this might mean I allowed it (the default).

The download of Photoshop CC went from 0% to 100% in a flash after which the notice was given that Photoshop CC was installed. Unfortunately on the desktop app Photoshop CC changed again to 'To install'.

Perhaps it is possible to do other methods ? Thanks for your time and effort.

you should be using the cc desktop app from here https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud to install ps.  that uri message is usually triggered because you start to download via a browser.
