Seeing another post here in the forum that suggested renaming Library/ColorSync/Profiles to Profiles_old before reinstalling, I did that.
- Tried a few times to update Photoshop CC from CC Desktop app, but it showed every time as Up to Date. (Would keep updating Bridge and Ext Mgr, but nothing for Photoshop).
- Closed CC Desktop app and reopened it, still said Photoshop CC was Up to Date.
- Link under Photoshop CC says "Learning and Tutorials" (not "More Information" as some forum posts suggest), and when I try to download from the resulting page, takes me right back into CC Desktop app which, of course, still says Photoshop CC is up to date.
- Dragged Adobe Photoshop CC folder to trash to Uninstall.
- Rebooted, CC Desktop app still showed same thing, Up to Date for Photoshop CC
- Closed CC Desktop App, signed in online, tried to re-download Photoshop CC through website instead of desktop app. It started CC Desktop App download, which reopened and showed Photoshop CC App as up to date, though it is no longer even in my Applications.
- Uninstalled CC Desktop app, rebooted, downloaded and reinstalled CC Desktop app, tried to download Photoshop CC app again, to no avail.
I still have the corrupt Photoshop CC app in trash, if that's needed for a fix anyone might suggest.
I'm stumped. Maybe an easy, quick, solution somewhere, but I sure can't find it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Well...just in the event the above problem is similar to a problem someone else is having, I'll leave it and provide here what I did to fix.
- I went into Applications/Utilities to Adobe Installers and used each of the Uninstallers for Photoshop CC, Adobe Creative Cloud, and for a trial version of Photoshop 6 that I still had. I left the Uninstallers for Lightroom 5, Bridge, Ext Mgr, and any other apps/plugins I had installed via the CC Desktop app alone.
- Went back to Library/Color Sync/Profiles

- Restarted my computer.
- Had a sandwich and a Coke.
- Re-downloaded Photoshop CC from the Adobe CC website, which of course installed CC Desktop app first, then installed Photoshop CC.
- All seems fine now, including the plugins.
Now I feel more edumacated.
