Photoshop Elements 2018 - Windows 10 - Install Failure

Hi Everyone,

I've been through the ringer on this one and so I'm going to try the community now.

Every time I attempt to install Photoshop Elements 2018 on Windows 10 (The only PC I have available to install it on) the install gets to 30% (Start of Installing Elements Organizer 2018) it freezes and goes no further. No error message, I've let it sit for over 90 minutes just to see if it was something big to install, etc...

System Specs:

Windows 10

ASUS Maximus IX Hero

Intel I7 7700k

32GB G.Skill DDR4-2132 RAM

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

500GB SSD w/plenty of free space

Steps I've taken

Attempted a "normal install"

Attempted install "As Administrator"

Logged into "hidden" Administrator account and attempt install

I've re-downloaded software from Amazon and from Adobe directly

I've updated Adobe Application Manager

I've repaired Microsoft Redistributables C++ Packages

I spent 2 hours on the phone with Adobe Support who was supposed to call me back today and didn't and I really want to get this up and running.

Resolved by booting to safe mode to install application, the elements payload does not like the fact that newer version of microsoft redistributables exist.

AXZAlexzandros, sorry you are facing errors when installing Photoshop Elements 2018 on the Windows 10 computer.  Please check the installation log to determine why the installation is failing to complete.  Information on how to locate the installation log can be found at Troubleshoot install using logs in Photoshop Elements .

Thanks for the reply. The log has no failure in it, it gets to the the Organizer Payload and then just stops. Here are the last several lines of the install log.

AXZAlexzandros, I don't see any errors in the installation log that you posted.  Without any errors, I don't have any additional advice except to begin a chat session at Contact Customer Care so that direct assistance can be offered to allow Photoshop Elements 2018 to be installed.

Excellent, AXZAlexzandros.  From the error, it appears that the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable package is unable to be installed.  This is a shared component produced by Microsoft and used by a wide variety of applications running on Windows.

You can find the installation files for the 2017 redistributable available at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads .  This is a component of the operating system, AXZAlexzandros.  If you continue to encounter problems installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable package, then I would recommend contacting Microsoft or the computer manufacturer.

What's the configuration of your PC? Do you have 64-bit, enough RAM, etc.?

Mine worked beautifully when I hit the 'ignore' button instead of 'Quit' on

the error message that I received.
