Hi Bani,
I too am facing similar difficulties to Violetta. I have been told by Adobe support to follow the link you gave above and have deleted the cache file in Application Support (I'm running on OSX Sierra), as well as having cleaned everything with the Creative Cloud Cleaner and uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Whenever I try to reinstall CS3, having followed these steps, it takes me straight back to the reactivation pop-up window that's attached to my old serial number and at no point has it asked me to verify a new serial number.
I have recently bought a new Mac and have transferred everything from my old mac to the new one, is this perhaps causing the issue?
Do you have any advice as what to do next?
Thanks

Martinh53137946 the screen shot you posted is for the hidden User Library folder. Please go to the Library folder at the root of the drive as discussed in Resolve "temporary activation expired" error for CS3 and Acrobat 8 . The cache.db file is not located in either the User Library or the System Library. It is only stored at /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/ as discussed by Bani in post #1.
Once you successfully remove the cache.db file you will then be able to utilize Creat

Hi Martinh53137946
Sorry that you are having trouble installing Adobe CS3 on your Mac machine, I would request you to share the screen shot of the following folder location with me please /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/, see: FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?
Awaiting your response.

Hi Bani,
I cannot share that as I have deleted it, on the advice of Adobe support. Attached is a screen shot of their instructions which I followed without success.

Thanks for sharing the details Martin, as you have mentioned you have already tried all the steps that i shared and the support agent shared with no success.
The next thing I can recommend is to create a new user account with admin rights and try installing the product there and share the results with us, see: Install or run Adobe applications in new user account | Mac OS X.
I would still request you to share the screen shot of the /Library/Application support folder with me.

Installing under a new user didn't work either, I had an idea that if I wiped my mac to get rid of any trace of the old information from my previous mac/CS3 and directly downloaded the new installer files from Adobe, would this work? I have everything backed up so thats of no worry.
Here is the screenshot of the Application Support page:

Thanks, that has allowed me to enter the new serial number and access my files. I'm assuming because the servers no longer work I cannot register (which I was asked to do after entering the new serial number)

The serial number registration server that CS3 is attempting to access was discontinued several years ago. It is now possible to register Adobe software titles directly at http://www.adobe.com/. You can find complete details regarding the process at Find your serial number .
I am happy to hear that you were able to successfully remove the cache.db file Martinh53137946. This discussion will be of great benefit to other individuals facing similar errors.
