Start the installer the most recent version of any product you've got and when prompted enter the serial number of the most recent upgrade you've got(taking your example of Elements start the installer for Element 10 and when prompted enter the serial number for Elements 10). The installer may then prompt you to enter the serial number for the qualiying product(in this case Elements 5). Enter the serial number for the qualifying product and you should be good to go.

Thanks

You can use the same install files/media on the second computer.  You do not need to redownload the install files just to install on a second computer.

Oh, so if I purchased Elements 5 in the box, then updated to 10 via Adobe.com for my desktop, I have to do the same on the laptop, i.e., install the old program (5) and then install the update?  Taking the install program for version 10  from the desktop?  And then the same for Lightroom, where I have the boxed version of 2 and downloaded v3 via the website?  Is there any way to just get the most recent version that I've paid for onto the new laptop?  Thanks for any clarification.
