Serial Numbers Lost, Registration Error

New Here ,

Hello,

I made the mistake of deciding to buy a new computer. I want to transfer my Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom to my new PC. However, I no longer have the boxes to these products as they were stored at my parents and empty boxes get trashed when they are discovered. So the boxes are gone expect for my Lightroom disc box which has no serial on it.

Lightroom:

I tried to register my Lightroom from the program itself, but get a registration error: Check internet connection (its fine) Or go to adobe directly, I get error: 404 page not available. I contact Adobe, they tell me to rebuy the product, can't help me.

Photoshop CS5:

Talking to a rep via chat, he notices my Photoshop tied to my e-mail. Says he will register it for me. I lose connection with him but notice, its on my profile now (yay). I go to install and type in the serial number given and it isn't valid! I look in system info and the numbers aren't even close, I have all numbers but the final 4. Contact support again and they say they cannot help because its CS5 and I should come here.

I just want to be able to get these programs on my new Surface and continue my life.

Help???

You can only register a product once, so if you did this in the past you cannot do it again.  Registration is not the same as activation, which you need to do anytime you install Adobe software.

As far as the 404 goes...

Make sure you are logged in to the Adobe site, have cookies enabled, clear your cookie cache.  If it continues to fail try using a different browser.

As far as the serial numbers go...

Find your serial number (which likely won't help based on what you described so far)

But... if you have the software installed on another machine you might be able to extract it from there...

If it's a Windows machine then try running Belarc Advisor

For a Mac you can try:

Ok now i am really lost. I ran the key finder from my mac (Im going Mac to PC). The key for photoshop (only one) that was found is the key the support rep gave me and it comes up as invalid on my PC.

I cleared my cookies and still get the error page, used a new default browser and the same thing.

A Mac license/serial number will not work for a Windows installation, and vice-versa.  As far as the CS5 stuff goes, you will be out of luck since it is too old to qualify for a platform swap.   On the other hand, your Lightroom license is more likely to be able to be used on a different platform if it is an older version.  A newer version Lightroom license (version 6+) will only work for the platform for which it is purchased.

Jax2600 if you are unable to locate your registered serial number following the process described in  Find your serial number then please contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care .  You will want to be prepared with any alternate e-mail addresses or phone numbers that may have been utilized to register the software title.
