Unable to download Acrobat XI Standard trial

Background:

The installer downloads and installs fine.

My only download options thereafter are Acrobat XI Pro. Not Standard.

So I resign myself to downloading a Pro Trial and choose to download.

Many files are downloaded - in what appears to be - successfully.

However there is no autoinstall.exe.

I took a guess and ran "WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86", which then failed w/ error message of "Not enough space".  I have 175 GB of free space.

This has been a trail of unsuccessful attempts to simpy try Acrobat XI Standard.

Help needed:

1)  Either need to get Acrobat XI Standard trial to download

or

2)  Figure out correct Acrobat XI Pro Trial install-file.

Thank you in advance

    Correct answer pwillener

I just downloaded the Acrobat XI Pro trial; the install started automatically when the Download Assistant completed the download.  The file that started running was Setup.exe

These are the files downloaded into \Adobe Acrobat XI Pro\Adobe Acrobat XI:

    Transforms (folder)

    VC10RT_x64 (folder)

    ABCPY.INI

    AcroPro.msi

    Data1.cab

    Setup.exe

    setup.ini

    WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe

Pat, thank you for helping me work through this.  I appreciate you validating the existence (or lack thereof - maybe?) of XI Standard trail version.

The downloaded files you listed are in fact what was dowloaded.  I followed your advice and ran the setup.  It installed w/ no issues.

I'm all set now.  It's not Standard, but it'll be just fine to give me an idea of how it works & if it meets what I"m looking for.

Again.  Thanks so much for your time & help!

Was that downloaded with the Acrobat trial?  This is the Windows Installer 3.1 for Windows XP.  The latest Windows Installer version is 4.5.

I will try to find a machine that does not already have Acrobat installed, so I can test what the Download Assistant actually downloads.

    What is your Windows version?

Yes.  It was downloaded w/ the Acrobat XI Pro files.  Thank you for explaining what it is.  Would explain why it didn't do what I was expecting.

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.

Holy smokes Pat.  You sure are a night owl!

You may be right that there is no trial available.  That's what the installer seemed to indicate anyway.

I did just double check the site though to make sure I wasn't imagining things.  Clicking on the Acrobat Standard link opens another window that says 'Acrobat XI Standard', 'Try it Now'.

Who knows.  You're assessment is consistent w/ download options.  Just wish the website wasn't so confusing/misleading.

Not really; I am just located in a different place in the world.

    Glad everything worked out!

We cannot know. You are not providing any system information.
