Hi guys. Guys, I have a problem. The Adobe Illustrator always duplicates the object I am editing and it distrubs me a lot. Every time I am moving an object, it always being duplicated automatically and it's very annoying. How to stop it? What should I do? Assistance please.
Resetting preferences solved this problem. Also the Alt key is duplicates an object when you drag by holding that key. This is why pay attention to it. If you have problem by automatic duplicate every time you try to edit an object, reset your preferences and done.

Have you tried Reseting all prefrences to default? That could fix things, maybe you have some weird hotkey for duplication setup with lmb.

I don't press any key as I was moving my objects. I just use mause. I am moving an object, but when I left moving my object, the illustrator literally duplicates, I mean, it makes a new clone of the object I was editing on its old place. I goggled it, but couldn't find anything. I recently began using illustrator anyway.

Looks like something is messing with your Alt key.
When was the last time you rebooted the computer? Before resetting the prefs, I would try that, because resetting the prefs nukes all your settings.
If a reboot doesn't fix it, what else is running on that system? Several apps and system extensions and antivirus and stuff are known to interfere with the modifier keys.
And also: check your keyboard. Might as well be a hardware issue of course.

I just use Alt key to zoom in and zoom out. I hold Alt key and I use the tire of my mause to zoom in and out. In Adobe Animate it was Ctrl key, but I don't know why it's like this in Adobe Illustrator. I don't think it has something with my keyboards because I just use my mause to move objects. I rebooted my computer 9:15:27:30 ago at this time. It just looks like in app issue, I don't think anything would corrpt it. I'm gon' try to record a video and show it to you. I think that would be better.

Hello?
I am facing the same exact issue with my laptop, It occurs across all adobe applications. I have tried to reinstall adobe even Reinstalling windows but The problem is still there. I dont think its a hardware issue because other programs seem to work just fine. Did you ever find a solution?

So your alt key is not stuck?
Did you already reboot the computer?
Reset the preferences?
If that also doesn't help, there might be a third party application interfering with the modifier keys and simulating a pressed alt key.
But also your other applications just might not use the alt key that much.

Hello @Adeogun37528876080w,
We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and checking if it helps? Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Anubhav

I encountered an issue today while working on a pattern across four artboards in Illustrator. Suddenly, many layers became disorganized automatically. I had to remove each layer, which wasted a lot of my time.

Hello @mohammed_safad_1683,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing more details, like the OS/Illustrator version, and if Illustrator behaves this way when using a particular tool/feature/file, so I can better assist you?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Anubhav
