Hey!
I tried to work with a stock file, but as soon as I open it, Illustrator get's extremly slow and laggy. My RAM usage is at 95% and it is not possible to work with it. Every step takes ages. Since I upgraded my PC this year, I never had any problems performance wise. When I tried to save the eps file as an ai file, it stuck at 99% and ended with an error. I was able to fix that through disabling "PDF compatiblity", but still weird. The file itself is about 90mb. I have absolutely no idea what do to. A friend had the same issues on his modern Macbook. Has anybody experienced similar issues and knows why? I added a Wetransfer link if anybody wanna try it out for himself..
Thanks in advance! Would be really glad if anybody knows some solutions.
Best regards
Nils

Looks like a very complex file with lots of blends and transparency.
What you are opening in Illustrator is the original Illustrator part of the eps file and not the flattened eps.
If you look at the Flattener Preview you will notice many complex areas that will be rasterized when flattened. I don't think there is a simple solution to make this a workable file. Maybe you can use parts of it.
What do you intend to do with the file?

Thank you for taking the time to have a look! I intend to replace the bottles as well as changing some colors. I guess I have to seperate the objects I need to finish the job in Photoshop.. not perfect, but for the few things I need to change doable. Good (or bad) to hear, that I at least didn't missed some simple options or similar. Still confusing how this was created or why there's the possibility to work with the file.. when it's not possible. Maybe the intend was to change parts only through the Shutterstock website.
Thank you!

This is just a pretty bad example for the use of vector graphics. This would be far better to have as a raster file or even better in 3D.
The image would be somewhat impressive in a portfolio if you want to apply for a job. But why would you buy it as a stock image?

A friend of mine bought it for his website. I usually paint in Photoshop.. so I am not familiar with Illustrator or vectors in general. At least not very much. I can change some things, but would never be able to create something similar to this.

I am sure that the file could have been made more editable with more recent options like gradients, meshes or freeform gradients instead of the enourmous amounts of blends (introduced in Illustrator 88).
