When I'm working in a file and have my Library palette open, things are good for about 5-10min. Then the Library palette freezes and I can't open or close any of the folders I have in the Library. Same thing happens if I close a file and then reopen any file after about 5-10min.
I have reset preferences, signed out and back in the cloud, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app. This also is happening with Photoshop but I'm more concerened with Illustrator since I use that every day.
Can anyone help me with this situation - it started about a week ago. Thank you!

Hello @Aber5D9A,
Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if it helps:
If the problem persists, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and sharing your observations.

Hi @Aber5D9A,
No, you won't lose any of the Libraries you've built. Your Creative Cloud Libraries are synced with your Adobe account, so they're safely stored in the cloud and will remain intact even if you use the Cleaner Tool or reinstall the apps.
Once you've gone through the steps Anubhav suggested, please let us know if the issue with the Library palette freezing still persists in Illustrator. If it does, it would be really helpful to know your operating system version and whether the freeze happens only in certain files or all files. A small screen recording showing the behavior would also help us better understand and escalate if needed.
Looking forward to your update!
Abhishek

Thank you for letting me know, appreciate it. As far as which illustrator files it seems to be any existing or new files. However, I discovered that it happens after I close a document and then click on the AI icon in the dock to bring up the window, the palette is frozen... every time.

Hello @defaultt6tf0xmtjv9m,
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you confirm the version of the OS/Illustrator installed, and check if you have any VPN/Firewall/Antivirus enabled, so I can better assist you?
Also, try the suggestions shared above to reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application, CC Library, and CoreSync (https://adobe.ly/3ZiMhca), and run Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello Anubhav,
It's the latest version of Illustrator (29,7,1) .
I could send you a screenshot, but it won't be of much use to you since my library is frozen on the last one I opened. I can't go back to choose another library or select an item from this open library.
The only solution I have found is to shut down Illustrator and restart it, but this is extremely tedious and wastes a lot of time... especially since the problem reappears after a short period of use.
I hope a solution will be found soon.
Thanks to you

I'm having the same problem, it is constantly freezing and won't let me click on any of the buttons within libraries, very frustrating when you are working on different projects at the same time withing illustrator. Hurry up and fix this Adobe.

I'm also having the same problem. Only started after upgrading to Mac OS Sequoia 15.5 yesterday, everything was fine before that. I am running Illustrator 29.5.1. Mac Studio M1 Max with 64GB RAM. No antivirus or firewall. Library window opens and assets are visible but I can't scroll the window, navigate through libraries or select an asset. This is a massive problem as I use them continuously all day! Please can you help?

Hi diatomdeb,
Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry for the trouble. Would you mind updating the Illustrator version to the current version, i.e., 29.6.1, and let us know if that resolves the issue?
We will be happy to assist you further.
Thanks,

Hi Harshika,
I updated to 29.6.1, shut down overnight and everything worked fine when I started up this morning for about 2 hours. I finished the figure I was working on, saved, closed and opened up a new file to work on. At that point the same problem suddenly happened again, i.e. the library panel froze, could not scroll, navigate through libraries - totally unresponsive. I restarted the Mac and everything is now working again for the moment but it will probably happen again in due course. The other programs I have running are Safari Version 18.5 (20621.2.5.11.8), Mail Version 16.0 (3826.600.51.1.1), Notes Version 4.12.6 (2998.56), Powerpoint Version 16.99.1 (25072013), Wacom Center Version 6.4.1-2, TimeEdition Version 2.5 (77) and PowerPanel Personal (control app for my CyberPower UPS).
Pleaase let me know if there is any other info I can supply to help identify the problem.
Best wishes
Debbie.

To follow up my last reply - it has just done exactly the same thing again after I have saved and closed a figure, then opened up a new file to work on - the library palette immediately becomes unresponsive. Hoping this might provide a clue as to what's going on!

Hello @diatomdeb,
Thanks for sharing the details. To better investigate the root cause of the problem, would you mind trying to run Illustrator under a different administrator account (macOS) and checking if it helps? If the problem persists, try the following steps and share your observations:

Hi, I am sorry but I can't do all that and risk messing up the apps which I use 12 hours a day to earn my living. As papermoustache says below, we pay a LOT for these apps and it's extremely annoying when new bugs appear after every single release. I've been using Illustrator since 1996 and it has reliably been the most unreliable program on my computer. And yet, my living depends on it. So I will await a fix after your in-house testing has found the cause of the problem which seems to be pretty widespread. Meanwhile I am having to keep a blank document open at all times alongside my working files to ensure that when I close a file, the libraries don't freeze. *sigh*
