Adobe!

New Here ,

I have never bene more frustrated with a program as I have been with Adobe Illustrator! Am I missing something? I've watched you tube videos after you tube videos, read blogs, asked questions and I am still at point A on my project! I wished I would have had a longer trial to learn that I would HATE this program!!! Does it ever get any easier????

I'm stuck! I created my image and now I can't get it moved on to the artboard?! I select print and nothing. I've redone my image 11 different times to get right back to square 1 where I can't get this damn program to do anything right!! !

sorry, your post is too emotional and totally uninformative.

Could you please say something more detailed? What did you try to do? What alerts do you have? What tool do you have troubles with? Maybe you could share a screenshot with your image selected and there the difficulties?

basing on your current info, nobody can help you, neither Adobe staff nor we here in community.

Hi Anna,

thank you! Sorry I was at the end of my rope! Here is a screen shot of what I created and a screen shot of what it shows when attempted to print.

If the printed piece is not printing properly, either change the media size (currently "Defined by Driver" or change the scale (currently "Do Not Scale").

However, I don't understand exactly what your problem is:

..."I created my image and now I can't get it moved on to the artboard?! I select print and nothing. I've redone my image 11 different times to get right back to square 1 where I can't get this damn program to do anything right!! ! "

Can you provide more details exactly what problem you are having?

In Illustrator you design things in the size you want to output.

Set up the artboards (the white rectangles in your case) in the size you want to print (the paper size) and then arrange your artwork on them.

Or set it up in the print dialog to adjust to the paper size.

So it's got nothing to do with how to use Illustrator, but just how to print from Illustrator, right?

Is your HP DeskJet 2700 postscript compatible? If you save as a pdf and print from Acrobat does it come out as expected?

Consider taking some live, in-person classes. You can start by looking here:

https://learning.adobe.com/partner-finder.html?products=Illustrator&partnerType=Certified%20Instruct...

(It's filtered for the USA, but you can change that.)

[Edit--many of these classes would be held online.]

Some instructors can even do a one-on-one class.

Hi David,

Thanks! I didn't know there were that many options! I've been searching online for classes but keep coming up empty handed.

If you are willing to share the AI file that you are having trouble with (via dropbox, or some other file sharing service), some of us could take a look and try to help find the problem(s).

Calm down and try reinstallling or updating the software. Reset your laptop if needed. What else in specific is not working?

I would not reinstall at this point. We need to have more info as to what the problem is.
