After exporting PNG from Illustrator, colors appear washed out

When I export JPG colors look the same as the artboard colors but when I export as PNG they look washed out. I'm not sure If it's related to my color settings or assign profile.

I open the two versions of the image in Preview to see them side by side. I took a screenshot from the images (left PNG, right JPG).

I also reopened the exported images in the same illustrator file and the colors appear the same as in the artwork.

Looked for an answer throughout the community but couldn't find something specific to the situation I experienced. If someone has an idea I would be grateful for that.

Illustrator does not embed or read the color profile with a PNG file.

Edit: currently, Illustrator does read profiles from PNG files, but unfortunately  still does not export it.

Check your document color profile (you can show it at the bottom of your window) and assign the same profile to your PNG export (in Photoshop or Preview).

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
