ai files always opens in photoshop.

Hi,

When I save an illustrator file into a folder and when I opens it from the folder it always opens in photoshop. When I choose "open with" option, it shows to open with Illustrator and then the file can be opened in illustrator. But I have to do this every single time I open an ai document. HELP!!!

Which operating system?

Check your file associations for .ai files.

When selecting the file and choosing "get info", after you select to open with Adobe Illustrator, do you click the button below that says "Change All" beneath "Use this application to open all documents like this one?"

If not, then it will only open that one particular file in Adobe Illustrator.
