.ai files default opening in photoshop after update

How to I fix this? Every time I go to open an illustrator file, it opens in photoshop instead. Very frustrating. I have to drag the file to the illustrator icon and then it works fine.

if you are on Windows, you can try:

right click on one of the illustrator files, open with , then:

In case you are on MAC Operating System and your Illustrator files are opening in Photoshop, we have the fix available in the latest release. Please try updating Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 23.0.1 and let us know if that helps.
