Ai/PDF to cf2

Hi All.

I have a customer who was asked by their printing house to provide cf2 files for die-cutting.

I've searched all through the web, and couldn't find an answer to this.

Is there a way (a script or whatnot), that can export to cf2 ?

That's not a normal request. Any printer that has a specific requirement for the machine they have needs to be able to handle that themselves. CF2 is a very uncommon CAD format, and any RIP that I have used for die-cutting can handle .ai, .pdf, .dwg. .dxf, etc. just as easily. I suspect you need to talk to someone else there that has better knowledge of their equipment.

Thank you. This is what I always suspected, but as I am out of the printing business for almost 3 years now, I thought some things might've changed.

I tried explaining them every die-cut machine has its own software and they are programmed to handle any file that supports vectors. My wild guess is, they sent my customer on a wild goose chase because they are either overbooked and were buying time, or they simply don't want to take the job (maybe the order is too small, or they have a high MOQ). 
Thank you for confirming my suspicions.

That's a CAD-related file format. So almost certainly not possible with Illustrator and certainly not possible with Illustrator scripting.
