AIregtool Illustrator CS4 Windows 10

New Here ,
Nov 07, 2019 Nov 07, 2019

Hello,

I've just installed Illustrator CS4 on a Windows 10 computer.

When I open it, I have a message saying something like "the register of the Illustrator window has a problem. Do you want to solve the problem ?"

By clicking on "Yes", AIRegTool.exe is launched.

Do you know what it is and what it does exactly ?

Thank you

Illustrator CS4 is not (fully) compatible with Windows 10. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, then that's that.

Nobody ever has or ever will fully test it and you are basially on your own finding solutions for issues.

CS4 is officially compativle with WIndows XP and Windows Vista: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements-old-versions.html

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

However, my question is more to understand what "AIRegTool.exe" is and does, rather than about the compatibility of Illustrator CS4 on Windows 10.

That tool is installed at same time with Illustrator ; the message could have been shown under Vista...

Illustrator is somewhat built modular. So tools and functions load as plugins.
