Any plans for a ESTK update?

Just bored and throwing this question out there... any idea if Adobe plans on updating the Extendscript Toolkit anytime soon?

Wasn't the last version 4.0 several years ago?

Cheers,

Scott

Well, this question should be to ask the developer (Adobe). And what's wrong with ESTK?

When I was learning scripting the ESTK was great, easy to use, but as my scripts became more complex and span multiple files I need standard features found in other IDE's; highlighting a variable will also highlight other occurrences, and "Right-Click" features light "Go to Declaration", "Go to Implementation", etc.

I am going to try WebStorm as my authoring IDE, and use ExtendScript to debug.

JetBrains Webstorm – excellent choice! It's very powerfull IDE.

ESTK more like a debugger in the browser. Debugger hase a quite another purpose. You would not expected from a browser's debugger the IDE functionality

New

But certainly a great pity that Adobe don't fly the flag.

This is the debugger for many programs that support ExtendScript.

The code editors are long gone far ahead.

For example, ACE editor, which can be easily integrated into an HTML page, a lot more powerful.
