Anyone interested in mathematical tiling? Check out Modulo Krinkle Tiling!

My dear tiling and pattern geeks,

I recently read a paper by Miki Imura: "A new non-periodic tiling based on modulo arithmetic*, (arXiv:2506.07638) and fell in love with this tiling.

I couldn't help myself and I've written code to draw these directly in Illustrator. If you're interested, you can download from my github repo: Modulo Krinkle Tiling for Adobe Illustrator.

I'd love to see what you use it for. Feel free to post images here.

- Mark

Thank you for sharing this approach, Mark. It can be a good starting point for some nice tesselations.

With additional efforts one may even use it as the basis for some patterns inspired by M. C. Escher.
