Having an issue in Illustrator. Creating a shape in Illustrator and trying to make it a hyperlink for final PDF export. I open the Attributes box but can't paste in url address needed. I can manually type in to URL box but can't paste long URL address straight in to it.

Hello @alfie_5516,
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with Illustrator. Would you mind confirming the version of the OS/Illustrator, if you have any clipboard managers enabled, and if Illustrator behaves this way with all files so I can better assist you?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Anubhav,
Illustrator 29.0.1. OS - Sequoia 15.1.1.
Don't think any clipboard managers operating.
This action has worked smoothly before but just can't seem to easily copy and paste URL in to relevant box.
Thanks, Alfie

Hello @alfie_5516,
Thanks for sharing the details. Would you mind trying to reset Illustrator's preferences as described in this article (https://adobe.ly/403BF1G) and checking if it helps?
Disclaimer: Please note that renaming preferences folders will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also save a backup of the folders, the location of which is mentioned above.
Also, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (macOS) and under a different administrator account (macOS) and share your observations.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Anubhav

I'm having the same problem, even after resetting the preferences and restarting. It worked for the first hyperlink object, but for the second one onwards I also can't paste the new URL in the input field.

Hi @mayumi_7859,
Thanks so much for your update. I tried the same workflow here in Illustrator version 30.0 and pasting into the URL field worked properly across multiple hyperlink objects. If you are not already using the latest version, please give it a try and let me know whether the issue still occurs.
To help narrow things down further, could you please confirm the exact Illustrator and macOS versions you are working with? It would also help to test the same steps in a completely new document and share whether the behavior is consistent or only appears in older or existing files.
When you get a moment, please also try resetting preferences manually using the steps in these links and update your observations:

If you happen to have any third-party extensions installed, they may interfere with text input fields. To check that possibility, please try running the app in Safe Mode and let me know if the issue persists:
Windows: https://adobe.ly/48ztrBq
macOS: https://adobe.ly/3KCCMQT
I'll be standing by for your update, and we'll take it from there.
Abhishek
