Basic vector drawing guide

Hi, can anyone recommend a good tutorial or book for the basics of vector drawing in illustrator?

What I mean specifically is a good exlpanation of the tools and shortcuts in illustrator and what they do, rather than a "how to draw a tiger" type tutorial.

Not interested in videos, need a handy reference guide.

I tried the online namual... maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but it was made up of videos mostly.

Is there a comprehensive printed illustrator manual anywhere?
