Hi, I've got a finished image I think after a painstaking amount of time using gradient mesh. I want to touch it up somehow. Not sure if there is a tool to help with this.
Specifically, I have an image, which has gradient mesh over it, that needs filling in of white areas and manoeuvring the anchor points are too hard to place over the white areas or it goes over the white areas too much and ruins the image.
Also, is there a way to set the image? Because everyone I click on the image, I see the mesh lines... I just want an image.
Thanks!

View --> Hide Edges. Other than that - no, there's nothing to "touch up". The gradient mesh is simply a specific object type with a fixed algorithm inside for the interpolation. It's not based on multiple tools. however, nothing stops you from drawing more stuff on top and around, including creating more gradient meshes for detailed regions.

So if I hide the edges and send the image to someone and they open it, will they be able to view it without all the meshes or will they just have to unhide the meshes and see it?

You want to send the AI file around? Do the recipients have Illustrator on their computers?

You could tell them to hide edges, but actually it's one of the things that irritate people when they forget about it.
Will this be a file you uploed to a stock service? Or have you been commisioned by a client to make this?
Actually people who have Illustrator, should be able to know a mesh when they see it. And appreciate it.
Can you perhaps show the artwork as a screenshot so we can see what is irritating you? it's difficult to understand your problem.

You could save it as a tiff, jpeg, or png to "set" the image, and even place that image into Illustrator. But it wouldn't be editable and I personally would vote to keep it as a mesh object if at all possible.
