Brush and Blob brush leaving broken lines/white specs

New Here ,

When I use the brush or blob brush tool, the lines are not smooth.  They are broken up and leave specs of white.  This only happens within illustrator.  If I save a pdf file, the lines are smooth.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Thank you.

What happens if you disable your GPU preview?

Click the Rocket icon at the top of your screen in order to go to the Illustrator preferences where you can disable it.

Yup! I finally figured it out. I'm mostly in Photoshop and haven't messed around in Illustrator for a while.  Took some time to refresh.

Thanks!

This has become a permanent preview issue. I think Illustrator should (more) thoroughly check the OS requirements for GPU preview and – in case of doubt – disable it by default.
