Can't add arrowhead to stroke

Guest
Oct 23, 2017 Oct 23, 2017

When I create a line segment, and go to the Stroke menu and click arrowheads to pick one to apply to the path, I get empty dropdown menus (both in the start and end sides). All other stroke options are working fine.

I suspect this is a plug-in problem. I looked in my files and have, in my Plug-ins Folder:

Illustrator Filters/AddArrow.aip

Illustrator UI/AddArrowUI.aip

The last one includes:

/Contents/MacOS/AddArrowUI

/Contents/Resources/AddArrowUI.rsrc

Any help would be very appreciated, I use this tool frequently and in this new computer at work am having this problem.

Regards

I got it installed by the staff in the office. And they don't know how to solve it.

CS6 is not (fully) compatible with Sierra.

Do you perhaps have more than one monitor attached (this is related to several issues with dropdowns)?

Yes I am using a second monitor. However, I just tried disconnecting the monitor and restarted cs6 on my mac and the same happens.

I had same problem, and  simple solution might be : select your brush stroke, go for brush option and choose basic! And then choose arrow heads you like.

Bye

When there is a brush applied to a path, you might not be able to apply an arrowhead, but the menu of arrowheads is also not empty (as was the case here).

I'm using Creative Suite 5.5 in Windows 11; old I know but whatever.  I've been having the same problem since installing in Windows 11.  The idea that it might be related to the multi monitor setup made me think.  I moved the stroke box back to the main display and bam it's working correctly.  I never even considered that.
