Can't adjust workspace windows?

the mouse adjustment does nothing is there any way I can move these to the right more without making them icons?

You tried to click and drag here to adjust it? 
Hove over till you get a double head arrow then, click and drag.

yes that's correct. when I try to do that it doesn't let me move it right at all.

for some reason it decided to suddenly work now.
