Given a text block with just two digits.

Using the selection tool combined with Shift, you drag to increase the size.

Along the way, Ai refuses to increase your object beyond a certain size.

There is a size limit for text.

You can increate it by scaling via the transform effect.

Which size? How much you enlarge it? Try to scale the object with scale tool or use transform panel.

Hi Monika,

Thank you for your response.

I googled text size limit and indeed the max size is 1296pts, which is quite unexpected.

Transform and scaling don't seem to help.

However there is a workaround: https://is.gd/cfiGXQ

This is an effect, i.e. visually your text increases, but the real size remains 1296pts

- you can verify this in the Appearance Panel.

Guy,

It is true, and the Effect way with its limits is mentioned elsewhere as well.

Apart from everything mentioned so far, the 1296 limit applies to the font size so any live Type letter is smaller.

the max size is 1296pts, which is quite unexpected.

Guess what the artboard/workspace size was in the old days.
