You can resize your template by entering width and height but is a dragging technique available? After you crop an image in the template, you don't know its size any more, and if its proportions are different than those of the template, you want to make the template fit your image. How does one go about that? - and can one check the size of an image in AE? Many thanks

I would like to take a snapshot across two spages in two-page view, however, as I drag from left to right, the cursor, the 'Take Snapshot' utility stops in the middle of the spread. Is there a keyboard shortcut that bypasses this limitation?

got it. thank you very much. Adobe might consider a pop-up answer, informing the user of why it's not working... actually, a wide range of such issues could be thus resolved by Adobe if informative pop-ups were displayed in such situations.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have tried to post, attaching a 1Mb screenshot but was unable to post... now trying to edit post by adding screenshot... OK, so that worked. and so, looking at the screenshot, you can see a couple of sequences. now you can choose which clips to import but sequences are part and package of a project, aren't they, and there is quite a number of sequence in the Lynda.com project file. Each sequence connects to as many clips as there are clips in the sequence, so all that stuff seems to be packed together, with no prossibility of chopping things up?

Hello, I am learning Premiere using Lynda.com files. This loads the project, files and all, which slows down my Macbook Air M1 256Gb/8Gb - for example, hitting the space bar to play a sequence in the Timeline, it can take a second or two for the sequence to play. Also, the preview in Program Monitor can freeze, while the audio continues to play normally. I wonder whether it is possible to open a project, loading only certain files? Many thanks

learning Premiere, I have been introduced to compound effects, specifically stacking up individual stills on different video tracks, so as to display them in sequence but on a single canvas in a single frame. while I can, painstakingly, place stills in a frame in Program Monitor using 'Scale' and 'Position', it would be great to have a resource, possibly online tutorials, giving tips and tricks to resolve layout headaches, notably the mathematical placing of object in a canvas. The matter of mathematical tricks to resolve geometrical layouts also applies to Illustrator and, no doubt a couple of other apps. I am not looking for solutions in After Effects, as I won't get into AE until after I have achieved solid competence in Pr. many thanks

I have an MS-Word document with several mp4 files in it. After conversion to pdf, the pdf file shows the video file's icon but it's now only an image, the video is not available any more. Is there a setting that ensures videos are embedded in the pdf doc? Many thanks

So, the home screen of Ai CC has a cloud icon, top right. Mine is augmented with a little cross, and when I park my cursor over it, I get the message: "Can't connect to cloud documents. Please reconnect to view all your files." Er, how do I do that? I've gone to my online account and can't see anything wrong; the Creative Cloud Desktop app says that my syncing is up-to-date. I have not received, to date, a valid reply from Adobe. As stated, Adobe has been able to provide a link to both Premiere 2018 and to After Effects 2018. I fail to see how Adobe would not be able to supply to Media Encoder 2018. Thank you Guy Cruls

CORRECTION: I think I created confusion by naming my post 'AME2020 does not work with Premiere Pro 2020' when actually I was referring to Media Encoder 2020 not working with Premiere Pro 2018. Having clarified this, I would like to also clarify this: Pr2018 was just months ago supplied to me as a link by the Adobe web chat team. the web chat team provided me wih a link to After Effects 2018 only weeks ago. As I was able to obtain the 2018 versions of Pr and AE - why can't I get ME2018? Adobe needs to be consistent in its service.

Just had a web chat with Adobe support. I was told that Adobe does not have Media Encoder 2018 on their servers any more. They have Pr2018 and Ai2018 but not ME2018? I need to have ME to be able to queue a project in Pr2018's 'Export Settings' dialog box. It does not make sense for Adobe not to have ME2018 when they do supply Pr2018! Also the chat support person was very below par in every respect... PS What prompted my contacting Adobe support was the attached error notice, despite having ME2020 installed, which made me suspect that Pr2018 cannot work with ME2020. Many thanks

Many thanks for your suggestions. The timeline is my object. Increasing height of tracks/zooming did not do anything. Automatic Audio Waveform Generation is ticked... However, having reset my preferences, hey presto, wave forms displaying! Very, very pleased with that! Many thanks!

thanks salvo24. I actually had a go and that worked. I also found that, while moving a sequence of tracks, in order to keep the sequence on the same starting point on the timeline, holding down the Shift key constrains the sequence to stay on it original starting time.

OK, so I feel stupid. The reason why sequences were appearing as green blocks was that I was not in editing mode. As soon as I clicked the editing mode the sequences appeared normally. Matter closed.

Learning Premiere on my own... Having trimmed shots in the source panel and threaded them in the timeline, I re-visit my work after restarting my computer. Re-opening the project file, I can't see a thread of individual, concatinated shots any more, only a single, continuous unit, with the shots having seeminly merged. How do I make the individual shots display again? Many thanks
