can't move objects in illustrator

I've been using Illustrator for many years, and this is a new problem. For some reason, I can't move objects in certain illustrator files. When I move them, they snap right back. I tried the same files on a different computer, and there's no problem moving the objects. So there's something wrong with the Illustrator on one specific computer. I updated the Illustrator to the most recent version after encountering this issue, and it didn't help. I also checked some previous posts on problems with moving objects in Illustrator, and nothing helped so far.

How far are you trying to move the objects? 

Did you already reboot the computer and reset the preferences?

I did everything else, but ... I didn't try rebooting the computer. I did that just now, and it fixed the problem.
