Cannot make an exact rectangle with high and wide sizes

When I create a rectangle of 120 x 10 cm I get a 120,0353 cm by 10,0353 cm and cannot fix it to 120 by 10 cm exactly. I try to change the values but I always get decimals... Any idea about this issue?

Is Use preview bounds and also scale strokes & effects turned on?

You are probably working in a Large Canvas document. Illustrator does some special calculations to get objects 10 times larger. This is probably the result of rounding. When I create a rectangle of 120 x 10 cm in a normal size document and copy/paste it into a Large Canvas document, it shows as  120 x 10 cm.

Belialchemist,

Like Monika (almost), I believe it is caused (only) by Use Preview Bounds (General Preferences), if your rectangle has a stroke of 0.1 mm, the combination of which matches the rougue numbers; without a stroke there would be no difference, so the setting could have gone unnoticed for a while with nothing to reveal it.

You are right, somehow (probably by me) Use Preview Bounds was activated, turning it off solved it.
