Cannot Uncheck "Show Character Alternates"

Using Illustrator 23.0.1, in Preferences > Type, I am unable to uncheck "Show Character Alternates". Anyone else experiencing this?

Also, news flash, Adobe: people hate popups. This should be off by default.

I tried it now on mac and windows 10  nothing weird ,it works!

try restarting your computer
