Check Spelling not working for Finnish

Hi,

I've searched the forum for answer and tried everything I've found. My Check spelling is not working in Finnish.

I have changed the language to Finnish in prefrences hyphenation settings, character styles, paragraph styles and in the written text box.

Spell check finds no words and automated check also does nothing. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for your patience. At this time, Finnish is not supported for Spell Check in Illustrator.

    Hello Miika,

     

    I did a test and it looks like no words are flagged as incorrect in Finnish using AI 28.2 on Mac 12.7.1.

     

    I would file a post with Illustrator Voice..  Did this work in previous versions of Illustrator, you may want to use an older version until they fix this.

    Thanks for testing this also.

     

    I havn't used spell check before. But now I really need it continously.  I did report a bug via Illustrators Help menu.

    Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind trying to change the language for your text in the Character Panel to Finnish and then using Spell Check to let us know if it helps?

    Then that word is probably not in its dictionary.

    Check Spelling suggests words without knowing what is correct. I can do the check with Englis, Swedish, Spanish and other languages on that same word and it suggests corrections. With Finnish, nothing.

    Did you install the Finnish version of Illustrator? In that language it should then be there.

    I just tried it in my (German) version and couldn't use it either.

     

    There is no mention of anything particular in Finnish on this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/spelling-language-dictionaries.html

     

    Maybe @Anubhav M  has some insight on Finnish language support? 


    I'm using the English version on Illustrator. I really hope it's not related to version language. I have used English version forever.
