Cleaning Paths using VectorScribe is Slow - Suggestions ?

Using VectorScribe smart removal brush too is slow, atleast on my system with the illustration containing dozens of somewhat heavy paths. Any way I can loop over a group of paths and have VectorScribe apply the brush setting to the paths automatically which seems to do a fairly good job ?
