Colors changing from spot to process when using "Gaussian Blur" effect.

I'm using Illustrator CC (22.1).

I have a rectangle that is filled with a spot color.  When I give it a gaussian blur, the color changes from a spot to a process build in "Separations Preview".

The "Color" and "Swatches" windows still show that it is spot, it just shows up as process in the "Separations Preview" window.

How do I correct this?

Go to the menu Effect > Document Raster Effects Settings.

At the bottom of the dialog there is an option called Preserve Spot Colours.

Is it turned on or off?

I am having a similar issue, and nothing would induce the art (which was created by the last version of Illustrator) to separate correctly. In the end, I created a bitmap TIF of the shadow in question and used that.

are you using the latest version of Illustrator 24.3 (released a couple of days ago)?

It should work properly with that version.
