what does adobe mean by not for commercial use?

for example i work for a company that makes marketing emails and sends them out to customers. does that mean i am not allowed to use the work i make with the beta Text to vector illustration?

or does it mean that if I make a product I am not allowed to sell it if it is made through a beta app?

what are the terms and condicions i cant find it anywear

Where are you seeing that restriction? The only relevant info I can find is:

"Text to Vector Graphic (beta) is available in the Illustrator app wherever Adobe provides services, and it's designed to be safe for commercial use"

https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/text-to-vector-graphic.html?trackingid=QGMZPBRY&mv=in-prod...

"In general, you may use outputs from generative AI features commercially. However, if Adobe designates in the product or elsewhere that a beta version of a generative AI feature cannot be used commercially, then the generated outputs from that beta feature are for personal use only and cannot be used commercially."

hi thx for your reply.

i see this on that first link you sent along. but because i am in the netherlands it says something else.

this is what you see

"In general, you may use outputs from generative AI features commercially. However, if Adobe designates in the product or elsewhere that a beta version of a generative AI feature cannot be used commercially, then the generated outputs from that beta feature are for personal use only and cannot be used commercially."

and this is what it says on the dutch site

Illustrator users can access Text to vector illustration (Beta) in the app as part of their license. This feature is not available to users in China and is not available for commercial use.

https://helpx.adobe.com/nl/illustrator/using/text-to-vector-graphic.html?trackingid=QGMZPBRY&mv=in-p...

i guess it's something in the law of my country then? so i wanted to know exactly what is meant by this

Hi @Nina3302611641vh,

@Nina3302611641vh

Thanks for reaching out. It seems that there might be a translation error at your end. The correct information, as per the English and Dutch versions, is the same that Text to Vector Graphic (Beta) is indeed safe for commercial use. You can use the outputs from generative AI features, including the beta versions, for commercial purposes unless specifically designated otherwise in the product.

So, if you're working for a company that creates marketing emails and uses the Text to Vector Illustration (Beta) feature in Adobe Illustrator, you should be allowed to use the generated content for your commercial projects.

If you have any further concerns or questions about the terms and conditions, you can always reach out to us for clarification.

Best,

Anshul Saini

Are we sure it's not a translation error on Adobe's part? @Ton Frederiks , how does it read to you?

It says something different now:

Het is nu beschikbaar in meer dan 100 talen en is veilig voor commercieel gebruik. De functie is niet beschikbaar in China.

Which translated is: It is now available in more than 100 languages and is safe for commercial use. The function is not available in China.
