Controlling text error messages

CC on a Mac. Illustrator gives me an error message when it thinks I have not correctly capitalized something. Can I turn this off so that I am less likely to overlook an error message telling me I misspelled something?

You can only turn off the spellcheck completely.

Of course! By error message I mean the red underline. Every noncapitalized item on the start of a line gets one.  I suppose I should have described them as "warnings".

Turn off AUTO spell check, ctrl-I for spell check.
