Copy & Paste Illustrator Effects?

Community Beginner ,

Morning all,

After looking, looking and looking some more I still have no answer to my problem. I created a shape and then used the Extrude & Bevel Effect on it (spent lots of time working with getting the settings just right). Then I created a different shape but I wanted to use the same exact E&B settings on the new shape. But I quickly discovered there is no way to do this. You have to go back in and type in all of the same numbers. In Photoshop this is a snap and quite easy to do between different layers.

It's nice that you can go back in and re-edit the effect but not being able to copy and paste effects seems odd to me.

Does anyone have any ideas, thoughts or workarounds for this issue?

Thanks!

The graphics style work perfectly, if you need to copy the same style and give it to the next text or image. Thanks @ (Michael_H._Davenport)

How exactly are you trying to transfer the E&B from one object to the next?

Creating a Graphic Style, and then applying that to the new artwork is the way to go, but...

You can also apply the last-used Effect (Command - Shift - E) top the new art.

And if you apply the Effect to a targeted Layer, anything you drag into that Layer will acquire the Effect.

I will try creating a graphic style. The main thing is I need to be able copy and paste different effects that I have applied to different shapes.

Thank you all for the advice!
