Is the file on the cloud or a local drive or on a server? There are some kind of corruption in a read/write critical stage that is unrecoverable, these are more common when working to a network or cloud service, so would reccomend especially with large files to work locally. (And eject USB files correctly)

It may work to reneme the ending as .pdf and open in Acrobat. You will lose some of the editability, but may be able to salvage the appearance.

If it is a cloud document you can restore a previous version (see https://www.lauracoylecreative.com/illustrator-tips/illustrator-cloud-version-history for a nice explanation).

Then it's probably gone for good. It's the reason why you should never rely on one copy of a file alone. Always have backups and several versions. Maybe the Illustrator team can help you. They can sometimes do magic on files. But really only sometimes.

@Anshul_Saini  can you please help?

Hi @Dream Walker,

I'm really sorry to hear about the file corruption issue you've encountered with your Illustrator project. It can indeed be quite frustrating.

As Monika said, please remember to always keep multiple copies and versions of your important files in the future. Data loss can be devastating, but having backups can be a lifesaver.

Regarding your current situation, you tried Luke's suggestion by renaming the file to .pdf and opening it in Acrobat without success. If the file remains unresponsive and you've lost most of your designs, it's a challenging situation.

Please share the download link to the file, and I will check at my end.

I will be looking forward to your response.

Best,
Anshul Saini

Thank you for sharing the file, @Dream Walker.

After reviewing the file you provided, I regret to inform you that it appears to be incomplete and partially corrupted. The file body and footer are missing, and the Illustrator private data necessary for a complete recovery is not present.

This type of issue can occur when there's an interruption during the saving process, the saved location is corrupted, or the file was copied or downloaded partially or with interruptions.

To prevent such issues in the future, I recommend saving as Cloud Document, which can help you save your work securely online and reduce the risk of file corruption. Additionally, it's always a good practice to maintain multiple backup copies of important files to ensure their safety.

I understand that this situation can be frustrating, and I'm sorry that I couldn't provide a more positive outcome for your file. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best,

Anshul Saini
