Create a rounded rectangle

Hello, I am new to illustrator so sorry if this is a very basic question. I'm trying to create a rounded rectangle in illustrator. I only see an option in the left tool bar to create a normal sharp-corner rectangle. If I right click or left click on this, nothing comes up. I remember previously different shape options would appear. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Probably a Basic Toolbar.

Choose: Windows > Toolbars> Advanced

But Rounded Rectangles coul be better made with a regular rectangle and View > Corner Widgets
