Creating a bespoke pattern line

New Here ,
Jan 03, 2025 Jan 03, 2025

Hello,

I need to add eyelet guides to artwork of various sizes. I’m trying to create a patterned line where the 'eyelet' marks stay the same size and maintain equal spacing, regardless of how much the line is scaled. Does anyone know how to achieve this?

Thanks in advance!

Can you please show an example of such a line pattern and also how that scaling would look like?

So it's the crosses that need to be the pattern. Need to remain the same distance apart when the line is increased or decrease in size

The only brush that would do this is the scatter brush. It will be uncontrollable at the corners.

Does it need to be a line?

You could also draw the cross and then use the transform effect to make the copies. You would need two graphic styles, one for horizontal and one for vertical.

Hmmm, let me have a think. I could gice you some options of the shapes the line has to mirror.

Maybe you can describe in which way you want to use it?

I do not understand the mirror thing.

Monika, obviously René is just asking for some more clarification, showing a sketch that may or may not suit the needs.

I assume that a pattern brush may be a possible approach, but would also first like to see a clarifying sketch from Jack.

Merci Kurt pour votre poste,

Par script on peut obtenir le résultat suivant, les croix sont des groupes composés de 2 traits, elles sont elles mêmes groupées. Mais on peut les remplacer par un symbole.
