Hi.
Most of the time I work with PDF and create and modify them in Illustrator. Now we use the server version of callas pdfToolbox to customize the PDF to our needs. It's not that important how it works. The result is important and strange: the PDF is cropped in Acrobat and in the preview, but not in Illustrator! There you can see the whole DIN A4 doc! How can that be?

I suppose the pdfToolbox server modified the PDF part, but cannot change the Illustrator part, which is separate from the PDF part of the file and contains all the data Illustrator needs to edit the file.

Is the file saved with Ilustrator Editing Capabilities?
Then you will see the Illustrator part of the file.

yes, it was. However, the different display did not occur after the PDF was created with Illustrator, but rather after passing through the pdfToolbox server. I don't know what happened there, I'm not involved yet.

Can I edit these parts manually, or take a view on them? Is it in XML?

I am not sure if I understand what you expect.
The Illustrator file contains everything. If you do not want certain parts, you need to remove them in Illustrator.
Or save a selcted artboard as PDF without Illustrator Editing Capabilities, but then you've lost the Illustrator part of the file.

... and if you open that file in Illustrator which has been edited in PDF toolbox and then save it, you will lose the PDF toolbox edits.

OK. Then I have to accept it like that. I was just wondering why this was happening as I had never seen this before. All of my PDF documents looked the same regardless of what I opened them with.
Thanks for the information!

Good to hear that helped. It is good to see PDF as a final delivery format and prepare it as such in the authoring application.

in principle yes, but sometimes one need an adjustment. So there is a need to keep the Illustrator-part.
