cs4 illustrator won’t open anymore

ever since the adware invaded my computer i haven’t been able to open illustrator.

i removed the adware but still can’t open illustrator.

i uninstalled and reinstalled the illustrator disk but it still won’t open.

i think the adware did a number on that application.

please help. i use it a lot.

versin 10.10.5

thank you both. but i realized what i was doing wrong. when i reinstalled illustrator i didn’t close out all the other apps. it said to do that and i didn’t. but now i did and it’s up and running.

Sounds like a system issue not an application issue. You may need to reformat your HD. I'm not sure is will be easy to reformat to Yosemite unless you have discs for it.

If you have "bought" Yosemite from the App Store, you will still be able to download it from your purchases.

I don't know how that will work if you just bought the computer with Yosemite already installed.

Illustrator CS4 is not officially compatible with Yosemite, but should at least launch (with the hacks mentioned in threads 2 years ago)
