cut and paste not working. when I go to paste, multiple lines of code are displayed on screen

I have tried sevral copy/cut methods along with several past in commands. When I go to paste I get 10-20 lines of code appearing on the screen.

Using latest CC version of AI. Tried downloading again; no luck

Please describe step by step what exactly you are doing in each exactly which application. Exactly what are you copying from exactly where?

WHich system?

Do you have any clipboard enhancers installed or activated?

Any third party plugin installed in Illustrator.

And if you have told us all that, then your video might be of help as well. Upload it to youtube and post a link in here.
